A QUICK LOOK BACK We’ve wept with Jeremiah among the ruins of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the tears have not stop falling. Get yourself another box of tissues this week. You may need them! THE WEEK AHEAD We start the week with genealogies. Yeah, I know. Lists of names are not that interesting to read. Think of it as a sad and emotional look back at the days and generations past. That is one thing we do at funerals is remember. We will continue to weep with Jeremiah as he struggles to make sense of what has happened in the Book of Lamentations. A lament was a song in which we grieve. A modern equivalent might be the blues. Ever notice how everything is going wrong for the person singing the blues? That’s the point. By singing about our pain, we can begin to deal with it. Keep reading, and I’ll see you in the Bible!
