At this point, you may have already learned that Emory UMC will be closed from March 16-28 in an effort to contribute to making the infection curve of the Coronavirus as mild as possible.
We have given up meeting together in person for the next two weeks in an abundance of caution. We strive to follow the example and wisdom of Methodist founder, John Wesley.
The way John Wesley held spiritual and social holiness together is a mark of Methodist distinction. He studied and wrote extensively about medicine and the importance of maintaining a healthful life both spiritually and physically. Let’s follow his example. Let’s work for holiness of body as well as spirit this holy season. Be safe, and smart and healthy. Do not panic, hoard, or let fear crowd out compassion for your neighbors.
I am excited to share alternative worship with those of you who wish to participate on Sunday, March 22. I am looking forward to these conversations and the time of prayer we will share together. To get a call from me between 9am and 12pm on Sunday morning, you simply need to text your name to 717-542-4957.
May God bless you and keep you healthy and safe,
